Oh My Goodness, We're Back Again

I know I've been missing for awhile, but there has been a lot going on int he word outside of Blogger-Land. I desperately miss blogging though, so plan to pick it up again as much as possible.

Aside from all the other stuff that has been happening, my son's potty learning has been going wonderfully! We never have potty accidents anymore! Once we learned that he preferred to pee standing up we had it! It was our Golden Ticket moment! We are not as successful at going poo in the potty yet, but that is not to say we're not trying REALLY HARD! He's only in diapers now for nap and night times and if we are going on a longer day trip where frequent stops at a potty aren't an option. I am optimistic that we'll be 100% out of diapers (except possibly nap and bed times) by the end of the Summer at the rate he is going.

Cloth Diapering Q&A

Here are some of the most common Q&A in regards to cloth diapering. If you have any questions you would like to see here, please leave a comment and I will add it ASAP.

Thanks!

Proper Care

One of the worries of parents new to cloth diapering is how to properly care for their cloth diapers. While most brands will have their own, specific washing instructions, there are some basic steps that most brands follow. To ensure the life of your diapers, (and so you don't void any warranties you might have) you should follow the washing instructions for whatever brand(s) you are using. If you are using generics or a brand without specific washing instructions though, there are some basic steps that can be followed. (I found many sites online that have very similar washing instructions.)

Our Cloth Diapering Journey

When I had my son in April of 2009 cloth diapering was the furthest thing from my mind! I was exhausted, a little overwhelmed, and we had over 600 disposable diapers of all sizes that had been given to us at the baby shower. One less thing for me to worry about. I had thought about, and dismisses the idea of cloth diapers as a "No Way, Not Ever" months before during my pregnancy. I was sure they were too messy, to much work, and something I just couldn't tackle in addition to new motherhood!
