Oh My Goodness, We're Back Again

I know I've been missing for awhile, but there has been a lot going on int he word outside of Blogger-Land. I desperately miss blogging though, so plan to pick it up again as much as possible.

Aside from all the other stuff that has been happening, my son's potty learning has been going wonderfully! We never have potty accidents anymore! Once we learned that he preferred to pee standing up we had it! It was our Golden Ticket moment! We are not as successful at going poo in the potty yet, but that is not to say we're not trying REALLY HARD! He's only in diapers now for nap and night times and if we are going on a longer day trip where frequent stops at a potty aren't an option. I am optimistic that we'll be 100% out of diapers (except possibly nap and bed times) by the end of the Summer at the rate he is going.

No Diapers. Period.

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Halloween and is busy preparing for the upcoming holidays. I haven't had much fluff news lately. It's a busy time of year for us first of all, and then of course there is the very exciting potty news!

Scarce

I know that I have been scarce the last week or twp. I am very sorry for that. There is a lot going on outside of cyber-space right now. I am hoping to be back to my regular, blogging self in the next few days. Until then just know that I miss it, and could use some good vibes/prayers/wishes.

God Bless My Hubby

I have heard from other cloth diapering mamas that one of the hardest things for them is getting their husbands on board the fluff wagon. I even know of some women who have wanted to go cloth but didn't because they were unable to convince their hubbys to go with it. When I first decided that I wanted to go cloth, this was a worry of mine too. After all, it's hard enough to get them to change a diaper they can just toss sometimes. How would he react to changing a diaper with a little extra 'work" involved?

Pampers "Designer" Diapers

This past weekend I learned about something that really blows my mind. Apparently Pampers has teamed up with designer Cynthia Rowley to create "Designer Diapers" that will be sold at Target. (We don't shop at Target, so I never would have known about these if I hadn't stumbled across the article online.)

I know that I have been promising a giveaway for awhile now, and I swear it is coming! I have the item in hand courtesy of Adriane at Mommy's Own! Unfortunately, we've had a series of unfortunate events in our household lately. First the power cord on my computer decided to break...actually snapped off right where it plugs in...so I had to wait for hubby to fix that. Then, for the last 4 days or so we've been under quarantine in the house because all three of us have come down with some kind of horrible stomach bug that has us either laying around miserable or in the bathroom.

I can't believe it! I never win anything. Despite entering dozens of cloth diaper giveaways in the last few months, my win rate has been exactly zero. Until today!!! Today I found out that I won a Planet Wise Wet Bag from Melissa over at Home Grown Families!

A Fluffy Fourth

I certainly hope that everyone had a fantastic 4th of July! I know that we did.

I started off this weekend by getting my son some of his first name brand diapers...Fuzzi Bunz! I got both the Sure Fits and One Size to try out before I order more. I will end up doing a review to talk about them later. I could easily fill an entire blog talking about them, and I want to give them my full attention. All I'll say here is that they are so soft I wish that my undies were made out of that stuff!

So, I got the chance to buy Parker some new cloth diapers today. We got some Fuzzi Bunz, which I have wanted to try out for awhile. Turns out, the place I found online was an in-home business, and in talking with the lady who runs it, I mentioned my blog and how I would like to do a giveaway sometime soon.

Woo Hoo! Fluff Package!

Yay! We got our fluff package (finally) in the mail yesterday! With the addition of three new one-size pocket diapers (orange, red, and green this time) we now have enough where I can cloth diaper all day long every other day. So, we cloth diaper one day, then sposie the next while I wash and line dry the diapers. My goal is to eventually be cloth diapering 100% of the time, all the time, of course, but it's a slow process. More and more I find myself wishing that we would have started this whole adventure earlier, but I am comforted that we should be able to cloth diaper our next child 100% from day one.

I Wanna Do A Giveaway!!!

Imagine me stomping my feet and throwing a tantrum that would make a four year old proud! That's kinda how I feel right now. I really want to make this a great CDing blog, and I want to help other new CDing mommies that are finding themselves in the same boat I'm in...they really want to try CDing, but they aren't sure what diapers they might like and they aren't sure or don't have a good place to buy them...and they don't have the money to buy a bunch of them either.

Have I Mentioned...

...how much I love cloth diapering! I think I have become addicted. The only stumbling block in my road is that we are still building up our collection, so we aren't CDing 100% of the time yet. We got another diaper in the mail today! Yay! It's a very pretty dark green, and I love it! We have 3 more that should arrive this week too, though I still need more.

We Need More Cloth!!!

We need more cloth diapers! Right now we don't have enough to cloth diaper 100% of the time. We have some more on order, but I very much want to try some different brands and styles and what not. I've entered several contests and giveaways, but haven't won anything yet. Right now I'm playing the waiting game...again...

Today Is The Day!

Today is the first day we are trying cloth during nap time. I haven't had a leaking issue yet with these cloth diapers, so I figured I might as well brave nap time. I'm only using one insert, so hopefully he'll wake up dry. I'm not sure when I'm going to brave cloth at night, but I am sure we will need at least 2 inserts. He is a very heavy night time wetter.

Cloth Diapering: Day One...Conclusion

Cloth diapering day one went great! Parker really seemed to like them, and despite him having runny problems today, he wasn't red at all at the end of the night.

Cloth Diapering: Day One...Again...

Well, after the disaster of an experience last time we cloth diapered (using pre-folds, diaper pins, and plastic covers) I wasn't sure I wanted to do it again...but I had some great friends that convinced me that I should try. After all, pre-folds aren't the only cloth diapers out there! So, we bought some one-size pocket diapers on e-bay and decided to give it another go. Today is day one of our cloth diapering experience, and even though we are only about half a day in I can already say...

Now We Play The Waiting Game

I am not exactly what most would call a patient person. Once I've decided to do something or start on some new adventure, I'm ready to do it now without any delay. Now that we have made the decision to cloth diaper I am more than ready to pack up all our son's sposies, give them away to our friends with children, and start diapering his bottom in our new environmentally, baby bum, and mommy friendly diapers!
