We Need More Cloth!!!

We need more cloth diapers! Right now we don't have enough to cloth diaper 100% of the time. We have some more on order, but I very much want to try some different brands and styles and what not. I've entered several contests and giveaways, but haven't won anything yet. Right now I'm playing the waiting game...again...

If you would have told me that I would become this addicted to cloth diapering I would have told you that you were nuts. I love it though. I love feeling like I'm doing something good for the planet that I'm going to leave behind for my children...not to mention something good for them and their health too. After all, if you look up the chemicals in disposable diapers, it's frankly frightening that the diaper companies have decided that these are safe and fine to put on our children's most intimate parts.

Of course, we are a military family on a military income, so we are buying our diapers in stages. I have no idea if I'll ever really get to cloth diaper Parker 100%, as he is already showing a lot of interest in the potty, but we are hoping to build up our collection so that when we have our next child (hopefully next year) we can be a 100% cloth family! (With the exception of the first few days of tar poop...I would prefer not staining our cloth diapers beyond recognition.)

I also want enough cloth diapers so that I'm not doing laundry every single day. I don't mind laundry. In fact, it is one of my favorite chores. I get into a rhythm and can do several loads happily! I will admit, I love folding clothes! But, it's nice to have the option not to do laundry too. Every third or every other day would be fine. After all, I have a 14 month old. I'm doing laundry at least that often anyways...but I would like to have the option of a laundry free day every now and then.

Arggggg! I wish we had a good place to buy them locally so I didn't have to wait on the United States Postal Service! Oh well, I'll take what I can get for now. Thanks for listening to me vent!

  1. That's one of the hardest things to do - wait for the post! :) I bought most of our dipes off Diaperswappers... it gets difficult waiting!
